RELPAX Migraine 40mg Tablets contain eletriptan, a triptan medicine used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks in adults who have a stable, well-established pattern of migraine symptoms.
It is used to treat migraine headache with or without aura and is not intended for prevention of migraine or for other types of headache. This is a Pharmacist Only Medicine, so pharmacist assessment may be required before supply.

• Always read the label and follow directions for use.
• Pharmacist consultation may be required before supply.
• This is a Schedule 3 Pharmacist Only Medicine.
• Do not use in children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
• Do not use if you have not previously been diagnosed with migraine by a doctor.
• Do not use for a headache that is different from your usual migraine, more severe than usual, or possibly related to another serious condition.
• Do not use if you are allergic to eletriptan hydrobromide or any ingredient in this medicine.
• Do not use if you have, or have had, heart disease, angina, heart attack, stroke, peripheral vascular disease, blood vessel disease, or high blood pressure that is difficult to control.
• Do not use if you have severe liver disease.
• Do not use within 24 hours of another triptan medicine, or within 24 hours before or after ergotamine, dihydroergotamine or methysergide.
• Do not use within 48 hours of erythromycin, clarithromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, nefazodone, certain HIV protease inhibitors, or St John’s Wort.
• Ask your pharmacist or doctor before use if you may be at risk of heart disease, including if you have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, obesity, smoke, have a family history of heart disease, are post-menopausal, or are a male over 40 years.
• Ask your pharmacist or doctor before use if you have kidney or liver problems, are pregnant, planning pregnancy, breastfeeding, over 65 years, or take medicines for migraine, depression, anxiety or other regular medicines.
• You may be advised to stop breastfeeding for 24 hours after taking this medicine.
• Avoid driving, operating machinery or doing anything dangerous if you become drowsy during a migraine or after taking RELPAX Migraine.
• Alcohol may make headaches worse or cause new headaches to occur.
• Seek urgent medical help if you develop chest pain, tightness or pressure in the chest, pain spreading to the arms or neck, fast heartbeat, severe dizziness, swelling of the face, lips or tongue, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or symptoms of serotonin syndrome such as agitation, sweating, fast heart rate or high blood pressure.
• Contact your doctor if your migraine lasts longer than 24 hours, your symptom pattern changes, you have four or more migraine attacks each month, or this headache feels different or worse than usual.
• If an overdose is taken or suspected, contact the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 or go to hospital immediately.
