TALLAWONG PHARMACY: Return Policy

At Tallawong Pharmacy, your health and safety are our top priority. In accordance with the Pharmacy Council of NSW, Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) guidelines, and Australian Consumer Law, we have the following returns policy.

Medicines and Pharmacy-Only Products

Due to health regulations and patient safety requirements, we cannot accept returns or provide refunds for:

  • Prescription medications (S4 / S8 medicines)
  • Over-the-counter (OTC) medicines
  • Pharmacy-only medicines
  • Compounded medicines

Exceptions:

We will provide a refund or replacement where the medicine:

  • Is faulty or damaged (e.g., packaging breach)
  • Has been incorrectly dispensed or supplied in error by us
  • Is otherwise covered by consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law

Returned medicines will be safely disposed of in accordance with pharmacy regulations and cannot be resold.

Retail Products (Non-Medicinal Items)

For non-medicinal items (e.g., skincare, cosmetics, health devices):

  • We will offer a refund, replacement, or exchange if the item is faulty, not fit for purpose, or does not match its description.
  • Change-of-mind returns are generally not accepted, particularly for cosmetic, skincare, and personal-care products due to strict health and hygiene standards.
  • Where accepted, items must be unopened, unused, and in their original packaging, with valid proof of purchase.

Process for Returns

To request a return:

  • Visit us in-store with the product and original receipt; or, if you are unable to come in, contact us to arrange sending the item back to our store.
  • Speak with our pharmacist or a trained team member (or, for postal returns, provide details via phone or email).
  • We will assess the product and the reason for return based on this policy and applicable regulations.
  • Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method.

Please note: postage costs for returning items are the responsibility of the customer unless the product is faulty or supplied in error.

Important Notes

  • Opened, used, or tampered products cannot be returned unless faulty.
  • We may request proof of purchase and inspect the product before offering a remedy.
  • For any concerns about the quality or supply of medicines, please contact our pharmacist immediately.

Where a product is eligible for a refund, we will endeavour to refund you within 7 working days.
