PicoPrep Orange 20g x 2 Sachets is a bowel preparation used to empty and cleanse the bowel before medical procedures such as colonoscopy, gastrointestinal examination, barium enema X-ray, intravenous pyelogram or colorectal surgery.

It contains sodium picosulfate, magnesium carbonate hydrate and citric acid, which work together to produce watery bowel motions and clear the bowel before the procedure. This is a Pharmacist Only Medicine, so pharmacist assessment may be required before supply.

• Incorrect use can be harmful. Use only under the direction of a doctor, prescriber or pharmacist.
• Do not use in children under 9 years of age.
• PicoPrep Orange can cause life-threatening dehydration and electrolyte disturbances in some people. Drink the recommended clear fluids as instructed.
• Do not use if you have severe dehydration, kidney failure or kidney disease, bowel obstruction, gastric retention, bowel perforation, toxic colitis, toxic megacolon, ileus or a stoma, unless advised by your doctor.
• Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are elderly, pregnant, planning pregnancy, breastfeeding, diabetic, have heart disease, kidney problems, electrolyte disturbances, swallowing difficulties, severe ulcerative colitis, or take regular medicines.
• This medicine may affect the absorption of other oral medicines taken around the same time. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice about your usual medicines.
• Do not take additional bowel preparation or laxative products unless directed by your doctor, prescriber or pharmacist.
• Do not drink alcohol during bowel preparation, as it may increase dehydration risk.
• Bowel motions may continue for several hours after the last dose. Avoid planning other activities until after your procedure.
• If too much is taken or you feel unwell, contact the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26, your doctor, or go to hospital immediately.

• Active ingredients per sachet: Sodium picosulfate 10.3mg, magnesium carbonate hydrate 7.4g and citric acid 12.2g
• Other ingredients: Natural orange flavour, Sweetesse Stevia 97

Storage Instructions

• Store below 25°C.
• Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture, heat and sunlight.
• Do not store in the bathroom, near a sink, in the car or on windowsills.
• Once mixed, the solution may be covered and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before drinking.
• Keep out of reach of children.
