• Always read the label and follow directions for use.
• Pharmacist consultation may be required before supply.
• Schedule 3 Pharmacist Only Medicine. Supply may require pharmacist assessment.
• Do not use if you are allergic to methenamine hippurate, formaldehyde, or any listed ingredient.
• Do not use if you have severe kidney failure, kidney infection, severe dehydration, gout, neurogenic bladder, renal tract abnormalities, long-term catheter use, severe liver impairment, or metabolic acidosis, unless advised by a healthcare professional.
• Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have frequent or recurring UTIs, any other medical condition, or take other medicines.
• Seek medical advice if you develop symptoms of an active UTI, such as burning or pain when passing urine, fever, flank pain, blood in the urine, or worsening symptoms.
• Avoid using with urinary alkalising agents such as potassium citrate, unless advised by your doctor or pharmacist, as they may reduce the effectiveness of Hiprex.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, breastfeeding, or intending to breastfeed.
• Possible side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach irritation, painful or difficult urination, itchy skin, or rash. Seek medical advice if side effects occur or worry you.
• If you think you have taken too much, contact the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 or seek urgent medical attention.

• Active ingredient: Methenamine hippurate 1g
• Other ingredients: Colloidal anhydrous silica, povidone, magnesium stearate

• Store below 30°C.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed and airtight.
• Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.
• Do not store in the bathroom, near a sink, in the car, or on window sills.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not consume the desiccant canister inside the bottle.
