Allersoothe 25mg Tablets 50 contain promethazine hydrochloride, a sedating antihistamine used to help relieve allergic conditions such as hay fever, allergic rhinitis, hives, allergic contact dermatitis, and reactions to insect bites and stings.

This product may also be used for nausea and vomiting associated with motion sickness, when appropriate. It is a Pharmacist Only Medicine, and pharmacist assessment is required before supply.

Warnings & Important Information

• This medicine may cause drowsiness, dizziness or blurred vision. Do not drive, operate machinery or do anything dangerous if affected.
• Drowsiness may continue the next day, especially after a night-time dose.
• Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine, as sedation may be increased.
• Do not use if you are allergic to promethazine, phenothiazines, or any ingredient in this medicine.
• Do not use if you are taking, or have recently taken, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
• Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor or pharmacist.
• Ask your pharmacist or doctor before use if you have breathing problems, glaucoma, epilepsy, heart disease, high blood pressure, liver or kidney problems, prostate or bladder problems, thyroid problems, Parkinson’s disease, myasthenia gravis, stomach ulcer or blockage, or a history of blood disorders.
• Check with your pharmacist or doctor before use if you take sedatives, sleeping tablets, opioid pain medicines, antidepressants, antipsychotics, seizure medicines, other antihistamines, medicines for nausea and vomiting, or any medicine that may cause drowsiness.
• Contains lactose.
• Seek medical advice if symptoms persist, worsen, or if you experience severe drowsiness, confusion, breathing difficulty, swelling of the face, lips or tongue, severe rash, irregular heartbeat, seizures, or signs of a serious allergic reaction.
• Keep out of reach of children.
